Cagnes/Mer stands on the sea front, with a great promenade.


Its incredible uphill medieval heart, Haut-de-Cagnes, nesting the castle which is also a olive museum, is outstanding.

The best view of this treasure is from Renoir’s house on the opposite hill. The famous Impressionist painter spent the last years of his life in a simple house standing in a peaceful olive trees grove with a breathtaking view. You can visit Renoir’s apartments and workshop.
